Finnish grindcore band Rotten Sound have been consistently offering up intense slabs of visceral, doom-tinged grind for over two decades and their latest album, Abuse to Suffer, gloriously continues the tradition. The new album, which was recently released on March 25, is their second release for Season of Mist, following their 2013 EP, Species at War, and marks the act’s first new full-length in five years, since 2011’s Cursed. But it’s been well-worth the wait, as Abuse to Suffer is a stunning force of modern grind, featuring 16 harsh tracks that combine Rotten Sound’s iconic blistering speed and aggression with dark, pulverizing heaviness. In this recent interview with Svbterranean, vocalist Keijo Niinimaa took some time out while on tour in Europe with Abigail Williams and Cult Leader to discuss Abuse to Suffer. Hardcore stalwarts Integrity and Texas thrashers Power Trip have announced the release of their new split release (artwork above). The split release is a semi-dual reissue in nature. Power Trip‘s side features two original tracks from their self-titled 7″, which was originally released in 2011 via Lockin’ Out Records. Integrity’s side is a remastered, retooled rendering of their 2010 7″ VVe Are the End, which was released by Magic Bullet Records. Integrity‘s side also features a cover of “Her Eyes is Filled With Stars”, a song sung by Crispin Glover’s character in the 1989 film “Twister”.

Hardcore sandworms Shai Hulud have announced a new string of North American tour dates that are set to kick off once the band returns from their current European trek. The new tour will begin on May 28 in New York, New York, and will conclude on June 12 in New York, New York as well. The band will roam through seven U.S. cities and make some stops in Canada along the way. Dwell is slated to provide support on these dates. Those tour dates can be found after the break along with a statement by guitarist Matt Fox.
Chicago’s finest, Weekend Nachos, have premiered a new track from their forthcoming final album, Apology, at Invisible Oranges. Titled “Dust”, the new track breaks out a relentless barrage of down-tuned hardcore mayhem that will ground listeners into, well, dust. Full of Hell vocalist Dylan Walker also makes a contribution to this track. Stream the track after the break.
